Whether it is as a producer, engineer, programmer, editor, singer or instrumentalist, Guy has
been working in and around the studio scene since 1989. He started out out as a trainee sound engineer for
"Synoptics" recording and video studio where he gained a good grounding in sound engineering and music
production in the days before the computing arena had really taken off - in other words when you had to do all the
mixing yourself without the assistance of the albeit complex, but effective, sound engineering software that
is what makes the music spin round in today's hi-tech world.
Subsequently, Guy worked abroad and in London as a sound engineer and, later, assistant producer.
Then, in 1994, he was discovered by legendary audio engineer, John Oram, who set Guy up with his own studio and gave
the young musician an apprenticeship in the art of recording and production. Guy learned how to make magic out of the
BEQ series 24 console and developed computing skills alongside as the use of sound engineering software became
prevalent. He also developed skills such as PR and image development - increasingly necessary requirements
in such a competitive industry.
As an additional background to all this, Guy has in fact been writing his own songs since he was thirteen
years old. He is a gifted lyricist as well as a talanted singer with a voice said to have the soul of George Michael,
the grit of Jon Bon Jovi and the range of David Coverdale. The fact that he is also an extremely talented guitarist and
keyboardist means that he has not only performed with several bands (including his own) over the years but has also been
called upon to do studio session work. Guy says that it seems like one moment he is behind the mixing desk [utilising
his sound engineer and production skills], the next he is in front of it [utilising either his singing, guitar or
keyboard skills; sometimes all three]!
Over the years, Guy has worked with people such as Universal, Mercury and Richard Park and is now
Director of his own recording studio and production company, GnT Productions. He has a long history in co-writing with,
developing and producing numerous bands of ever-increasing varieties of genre, and has helped many people find their
own particular niche in the music industry such as those shown under the portolio on the left: just some of the people
Guy has worked with over the years.
